Privacy Policy
4-Player Chess · Effective June 13, 2026
4-Player Chess is built to collect as little as possible. You can play
offline — against bots and in pass-and-play — without any data ever leaving
your device. The information below is only involved when you use the online
features (Quick Match, private games, daily correspondence games, the My Games
list) or load the Daily Puzzle.
What we collect when you play online
- A player identifier — your Apple Game Center ID if you're signed
in, otherwise a random anonymous ID generated and stored on your device.
It lets us match you to games and keep your rating.
- Your display name — the name you set, or your Game Center
nickname. It's shown to the other players at the table.
- Your gameplay — the moves, results, and timing of online games you
take part in.
- Your rating — an ELO rating and games-played count derived from
your online results.
- Standard network information — like any internet service, our
server receives your device's IP address with each request in order to
respond. It is used to operate the service, not to profile you.
What we do NOT do
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We use no advertising and no third-party analytics, ad, or
tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, or
microphone/camera.
Purchases
Any in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment
details; the app only records, on your device, whether an item was unlocked.
Data retention
Online game records and ratings are retained on our server so that game
history, the My Games list, and ratings keep working. To have your records and
rating deleted, email us at the address below and we'll remove them.
Children
The game contains no behavioral advertising and no open chat between
players. Light, automated comments from the computer opponents are generated on
your device.
